UAE participates in New York Book Fair
Dubai: The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development aims to promote UAE innovation and creativity on a global stage by participating in the New York International Book Fair, said Bilal Budoor, Executive Director for Cultural and Arts Affairs.
The ministry's participation reflects the UAE's cultural rank in the region. A large collection of paintings and materials on culture will convey a true picture of the UAE.
Attended by a large number of UAE organisations, the New York International Book Fair will open tomorrow and run until May 31. The ministry's booth includes various publications and books.
The other participants are the Abu Dhabi Heritage and Culture Authority; Mohammad Bin Rashid Establishment; Culture and Information Department, Sharjah; UAE Writers Union; Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation; National Centre for Research and Studies, Abu Dhabi; Emirates Centre for Strategic Research and Studies; Emirates Heritage Club, Abu Dhabi; UAE Publishers Association; National Media Council, and Science and Culture Association, Dubai.
Al Budoor added that the ministry seeks to boost interaction with international publishing houses, get acquainted with latest trends in publishing and distribution and exchange expertise with publishers and writers from the US.
