Eid festival begins in Abu Dhabi on Thursday

The festival commences on the eve of Eid Al Adha and will continue for 38 days

Abu Dhabi: An Eid festival organised by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City will begin on Thursday in Formal Park at Abu Dhabi Corniche on Thursday.

The festival commences on the eve of Eid Al Adha and will continue for 38 days, including the official celebrations of the 38th UAE National Day.

Festivities will continue through, January 2, 2010, and will include diverse heritage, artistic, sports and folklore events.

The event will also include art and handicraft workshops, children's play areas and games, amongst other events and surprises.

Each of the 38 days of the festival, celebrating the 38 years of the UAE will bring a new surprise.

Events include musical concerts featuring popular singers, including the Lebanese singer Elissa on the evening of November 27, and the UAE popular singer Hussain Al Jasmi, on the evening of the National Day on Wednesday, December 2.

The Aayad Village and its programme of events in Formal Park are designed to attract all members of the Abu Dhabi community.
