Hammer will play the titular lead role in Disney's new take on The Lone Ranger
It wouldn’t be correct to say that Armie Hammer has received twice as many offers as his costars in The Social Network, all of whom are doing quite well thanks, but then Hammer did play not one, but two lantern jawed jocks in the highly successful flick. Hammer’s name is cropping up a lot in entertainment news of late. Today, it’s been confirmed that he will star opposite Johnny Depp in Disney's new take on The Lone Ranger.
Hammer will play the titular lead role, with Depp appearing as his sidekick Tonto, an American Indian who nurses The Lone Ranger back to health after a brutal ambush. Surprised to see Depp in a seemingly supporting role? Perhaps Hammer told him “Can’t Touch This” when he eyed the lead spot?
