Cold feet?

Just before her wedding, scheduled in August, Lebanese singer Elaine Khalaf has announced that she and her fiancé have broken up. No reasons were given by Elaine, who said she preferred to keep her personal issues to herself. The singer is keeping busy by recording and shooting a clip for her latest song Farhat Eini.

Cop call for singers

Lebanese singers Haifa Wehbi, Nancy Ajram, Fadel Shaker, Nicole Saba and Iraqi singer Kathem Al Saher were called in for questioning in Egypt about a lawsuit filed against them by Egyptian composer Jamal Salamah. Jamal claimed the group stole a song that he had composed and performed it without his permission. The artistes will be interrogated later this month.

New album

After giving birth to her second child, Emirati singer Ahlam has begun recording the songs for her latest album which will be released by production company Rotana this summer. The album includes a song composed by fellow singer Hussain Al Jismi.

Friends again

Tamer Husni made up with fellow singer Mohammad Munir at a wedding recently. The two stars publicly shook hands to put an end to rumours that they were not on speaking terms. The problem started in August last year when Munir at one of his concerts told the audience that he joined the military service as soon as he was drafted, which Husni felt was an insult to him as he was jailed for evading military service.
