Black attack
Faris Karam was not happy when Emile Slailati, the director of the video of his song Niswanji, made him wear a black shirt for some of the scenes. Faris thought the shirt did not go with the image of Don Juan, who he was supposed to reflect. However, a few tantrums and phone calls later, the problem was solved, leaving everyone satisfied.
Bad show
Elissa was embarassed during the opening ceremony of the Jordan Summer Festival recently. The singer's performance was repeatedly interrupted by the audience, who were cheering for George Wassouf as if they didn't care for Elissa's singing. Ironically Wassouf, who took to the stage after a short performance by Jordanian singer Omar Abdallat, appeared tired, much to the disappointment of his eager fans.
Amr the winner
Amr Diab is on cloud nine these days. The Egyptian singer has won the World Music Award for the fourth time and will be honoured at the special ceremony to be held in Monaco in November 9, 2008. With this, he becomes the first Egyptian artiste to achieve this rare feat.
Kivanch in Rula music video
Rula Saad surprised her fans when she revealed that the star of her latest video is none other than Turkish heartthrob Kivanch, who plays the lead role in the Arabised Turkish series Sinin Al Dayaa. Apparently it was the actor's overwhelming popularity in the Arab world that made Rula choose him for the role.
