Jumana Murad has denied that she kept her marriage a secret, saying instead that she was just trying to keep a low profile. Although she did not reveal the name of the groom, she said he was a Syrian businessman. Jumana was earlier married to Syrian director Najdat Anzour.
No indecent scenes for ruby
Egyptian singer Ruby was offended when prominent actor Mahmoud Yaseen asked the director of his latest film, Al Wa'd (The Promise), to make sure that the film contained no nude or indecent scenes of his co-star Ruby because it would be damaging to his reputation. Ruby strongly denied appearing in any nude scenes.
Amr faces two lawsuits
Amr Diab is facing two lawsuits filed by lawyer Nabih Al Wahesh. The lawyer, famous for suing celebrities, said Amr's comments about Egyptian music legend Abdul Halim Hafez were offensive to Egyptian music and Egypt on the whole. The other lawsuit concerns Amr's intentions to move to Lebanon, which made the lawyer angry because, according to him, "Egypt made him famous".
No baby publicity
Shireen Abed Al Wahab has denied media reports that there is a dispute between herself and her husband, music distributor Muhammad Mustafa, over their daughter Maryam. The dispute is rumoured to be about Muhammad disapproval at Maryam's potential appearance in a film. Shireen announced that the couple have both agreed not to have the baby's pictures released in the press, as they want her to live a normal life.
