Actor Anupam Kher sparked a surprising moment during a recent podcast appearance when he confronted the host for not watching his latest film, Tanvi the Great, before the interview. The film, which released three weeks earlier, was partially crowd-funded for Rs 50 crore but earned just around Rs 2 crore at the box office.

After pretending to 'leave', Kher asked, "Why haven't you seen it, is my question? I not saying this out of anger. But it's your duty, when you're doing a podcast, to do your research and find out what's important. You're doing a podcast on films, but you haven't watched my film."

Kher emphasised that he wasn't trying to make him feel small and added, "You should do something that makes your guest happy."

The host explained that the interview had only been finalised the night before, and he had flown from Jaipur to Mumbai that morning. But Kher stood firm: “I will not answer this question because you will not know what my reference point is.

When the host later admitted feeling uncomfortable, Kher responded, “You deserve to feel bad about it.”

The 70-minute conversation took place on The Longest Interview, part of the Chalchitra Talks YouTube channel, which has around 3.5 lakh subscribers. Kher also reassured the host that his reaction wasn’t about insecurity. Nevertheless, at the end he apologised for 'being brash', and says it was a good conversation, even though he was a 'little hurt'.
