Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and director and TV personality Sajid Khan will host the star-studded Zee Cine Awards to be held in Singapore this Friday.
Some of the biggest names in the Indian film fraternity, including Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Rampal are expected to attend the annual awards, hosted by broadcaster Zee Network, which honours the best in Bollywood.
Kumar, whose last film Tees Maar Khan became one of the biggest opening weekend net grossers of all time, collecting an excess of $500,000 (Dh1.8 million) from the UAE box office alone, is known for his versatility and comic timing. Khan, brother of TMK director Farah Khan, first made his name in Bollywood as a comedian.
Zee Cine Awards are given by public vote, and are held in different countries every year. This year it will be hosted by Singapore's brand new Marina Bay Sands resort. Dubai played host to the awards in 2004.
