Top Bollywood stars such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kajol will mingle with south Indian heavyweights Mammootty and Manju Warrier at the annual Asiavision Movie Awards 2014 on November 14 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Rai Bachchan, who celebrated her 41st birthday on November 1, has been honoured with the Icon Of India award, while My Name Is Khan actress Kajol will receive the Excellence In Indian Cinema Award on the same night.

“Mammootty, Aishwarya Rai, Kajol and more are all confirmed to attend and it’s the first time that all these big names will come together for a movie-related awards function. It’s our ninth edition and we wanted it to be special,” said Nissar Syed, the awards’ managing director.

It’s going to be a big night for the Mammootty clan as father and son will take home trophies. Mammootty has won the Best Actor trophy for his role as a ruthless ex-convict in thriller Munnariyippu, and his son Dulquer Salman — behind hits such as the feel-good friendship film Bangalore Days — will be honoured with the Performer Of The Year award.

All popular awards were chosen through an online poll.

All eyes will be on Warrier, who made a stellar comeback this year with the engaging family drama How Old Are You. She wins the Best Actress Award for her role as a downtrodden-turned-empowered Kerala housewife. It is Dileep’s ex-wife’s second appearance in Sharjah in November: The actress will launch her book, Sallapam, on November 6 at the Sharjah International Book Fair after 9pm and will also interact with her fans in an ‘In Conversation With Manju Warrier’ session.

From Tamil cinema, actor Dhanush and Shruti Hassan will also attend. Actor Jayaram, who played a master drummer in Swapaanam, will be honoured with 25 years of Excellence In Malayalam and Tamil Cinema award.

Apart from star sightings, singer Shankar Mahadeven will also perform at the awards presentation ceremony. His son Siddharth, of the hit song Zinda from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, will also attend.
