Shaking off the shadow of a sex scandal that put a damper on her career for more than two years, Katrina Halili is making headlines again. This time for the right reasons.
The 25-year-old Filipino actress is heading to the UAE for a two-night Eid celebration show in Dubai on September 2 and 3, organisers told tabloid!
A video that surfaced on the internet in 2009 showed Halili having a sexual tryst with former doctor to the stars Hayden Kho, who secretly filmed their encounter. The sex scandal caused massive damage to Halili's career.
In an interview with tabloid! in May, Halili admitted that when the scandal broke, she was left "crushed, broken down to pieces in all aspects of my life. It wasn't just my career, but my whole life changed after that." Read full interview
Thankfully, things are picking up for Halili now, who is busy with TV offers and international shows.
Her latest gig will be on September 2 at Club 7, Park Regis Hotel in Dubai, and at Kitakits at the Marco Polo Hotel in Dubai on September 3.
Organisers promised that fans can watch her "dance, sing, and talk you up close on how she survived it all".
“We've always believed in rainbows after a dark storm, that is why we are bringing Ms. Halili in the Middle East so that she can show everyone here that one storm can not bring down hurricane Katrina. This is all about woman power; the determination to face every trial amidst all the controversies," said show producer Odud Chowdhury of Odma International.
