Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy died early Sunday morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, reported TMZ, the celebrity and gossip website and othe agencies. She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 am from a home in Los Angeles from her husband Simon Monjack, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Media reports said that Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her time of death was listed as 10:04am.
Murphy starred in such films as Clueless, 8 Mile, and Don't Say a Word.

Sources told media that it was Brittany Murphy's mom who discovered her unconscious in the bathroom. It was reported that the paramedics who arrived quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR.

They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Los Angeles County Coroner's office said that Murphy died of natural causes.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center spokeswoman Sally Stewart says Murphy was pronounced dead on Sunday. Murphy was transported to the hospital after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 8am at the home Murphy shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the Hollywood Hills.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says the cause of Murphy's death "appears to be natural."

He says Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom on Sunday morning, and authorities are looking into her medical history.
