Big-budget multi-starrer action films were popular during the '70s and '80s until romantic entertainers took the reins. But it looks like the big screen is set to explode once again with high-octane action drama. Soham Shah's Luck is being touted as a unique action adventure.

The plot

In a bid to escape his financial mess, Ram Mehra (Khan) finds hope in Mousa (Dutt), who wants to revolutionise the underground betting industry by plotting a unique death-defying game. And joining Mehra in this thrilling adventure are Veer Pratap Singh (Chakraborty), Tamang Thapa (Denzongpa), Raaghav (Kishan), Shortcut (Rawat) and Angela (Haasan). The plot of Luck is supposedly inspired by 13 Tzameti.

Boy-next-door to rugged action star

After playing a romantic role in his debut Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Khan shifted to action in Kidnap and stuck by that trend in Luck.

"I just choose films which I feel are best-suited to me," says Khan. He also got a chance to work with Bollywood veterans. "I never expected it to be a huge boys' party when I shot the film with seniors like Mithun, Danny and Kishan," adds Khan. With so much talk about 'luck', does he believe in luck? He replies, "I don't, because I'm a practical person."

Death-defying stunts

All the lead actors performed their own stunts. "Stunts always give me an adrenaline rush," says Khan. Speaking about his stunt, Dutt says, "I hadn't shot such hard-core action sequences in a long time, so when I got the opportunity, I decided to do it." However, Chakraborty suffered a minor injury while performing a stunt. "Such accidents happen but I don't allow it to affect my work," adds the talented Chakraborty.

Latest star kid

Luck is also making news because it debuts Shruti, the daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika. Unlike other star kids, Shruti didn't want her parents to accompany her on set. "I wouldn't be able to act in front of my father so I've told him to wait for the final product," says Shruti. She also lends her voice to the Aazma track.

Big ticket to stardom

And joining this action-packed brigade is the talented Bhojpuri actor Kishan, who has taken on a few prominent roles in Hindi cinema so far, and Rawat, who plays the fiery Komal Chautala in Chak De India. Luck also marks the return of the talented Denzongpa. Overall, Luck holds a lot of promise at least for action lovers!
