Dubai : Hospitality Management Holdings (HMH) will open two hotels in Doha after opening its first property in Beirut.

"Both our Doha properties — Coral International, Doha, and Corp Doha, Suites — are in the final stages of development and located within easy reach of Doha International Airport as well as the city's main commercial and leisure districts," HMH chief executive Michel Noblet said in a statement.

Coral Doha Suites is expected to welcome its first guests by July with 60 apartments. Coral International Doha will open by the third quarter and comprises 228 guest rooms and suites.

"Personalisation and service matter more than ever in the hospitality sector," Noblet said.

"We are a home-grown group with a deep understanding of the region which gives us a distinct edge."

HMH this year opened Coral Suites Al Hamra, its first hotel in Beirut. Located in the heart of the city, minutes from the business and shopping districts, the hotel features 100 rooms and suites.

"Beirut is booming and so is the hospitality industry in the city. We believe there is an enormous potential for our brand in Lebanon which is emerging as a leading tourism and business hub in the region.

"Our aim with Coral Suites Al Hamra is to offer an authentic local experience with modern luxuries that discerning travellers expect from world-class properties," Noblet said.

Of the 10 million visitors to the Middle East each year, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon together represent over 40 per cent of arrivals. In 2009, Beirut was listed as number one among 44 international destinations recommended by the New York Times for travel.

More than two million tourists are expected to visit Beirut this summer. However, there is a significant imbalance in the hospitality infrastructure relative to growth potential in Lebanon, Noblet said.
