Dubai: Enticing consumers to spend more, a mega shopping mall in Dubai is promising to give away a kilo of gold this weekend.
Retail conglomerate Majid Al Futtaim has announced that shoppers can get the chance to win a kilo of gold when they buy something at any store in City Centre Deira starting today, Thursday, until August 4, the last day of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
At today’s rate of $1,222.45 an ounce, a kilo of gold is worth approximately more than $43,000 or Dh158,000.
For shoppers to get the chance to score big, however, they need to spend at least Dh200. In return, they can redeem a coupon at the mall’s customer service desk for a chance to bag the mega prize.
Bigger spenders, or those who spend at least Dh600, will also instantly win one VOX Cinema ticket.
Dubai Mall
It’s not just City Centre Deira that has exciting prizes in store for shoppers. In Dubai Mall, there are surprise telephone booths that give away special rewards to lucky visitors.
The booths are programmed to ring randomly seven times a day and anyone who takes the call will be asked a question. Correct answers will be rewarded with an instant prize from a top brand in the mall.
Dubai Festival City
Shoppers at Dubai Festival City Mall can still get the chance to win a brand-new car or gift vouchers. Since the start of the DSS, the mall has been giving away Dh2,000 worth of gift vouchers to 15 shoppers per week.
The mall has also set aside a Lexus 2018 RX and a seven-seater SUV to be given away as grand prizes for its DSS campaign.
