Dh7.17bn sales recorded by UAE cooperatives in 2015

Dubai: Sales among cooperative supermarkets in the United Arab Emirates increased by 3.22 per cent to Dh7.171 billion in 2015, according to the Chairman of Consumer Co-operative Union.

Meanwhile, capital raised by co-ops increased by 6.18 per cent to Dh1.318 billion in 2015 compared to a year earlier, Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, chairman of the union, said in an emailed statement on Monday.

Al Shamsi opened the 21st “CO-OP’s” shopping festival 2016 on Monday, the statement said.
