Dubai: Banks operating in the UAE will observe a four-day holiday on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

The Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE) has notified banks that the holidays will start on Monday, August 20, and that work will resume on Saturday, August 25.

Including Friday, bank employees will get five days of holidays.

While bank branches will remain closed during the holidays, banks have made arrangements to make cash available through ATMs.

To meet the high demand for new bank notes during the Eid, the central bank has supplied newly printed notes to banks.

“CBUAE confirms that it has provided all banks operating in UAE with new banknotes to meet their customers’ needs, in line with UAE’s social traditions during Eid Seasons,” the central bank said in a statement.

The CBUAE instructed all banks to take necessary arrangements to ensure the public’s needs of new banknotes are adequately met, and to coordinate with the CBUAE to that end.
