Every mall in Dubai is rolling out its own version of red carpet treatment for visitors during this year's Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).
For the first time, the Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) promotion extends into Ramadan with the launch of New Ramdan In Dubai by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (Depe); the latter has an official mandate from the Government of Dubai to boost the emirate's retail and events sector through year-round attractions.
This DSS, every time customers spend Dh200 across 14 participating shopping malls, they get a chance to win ten BMWs (2012 model).
The draw dates are June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, July 31, August 4, August 11, August 18, August 25 and August 31.
With cars and cash to be won all over Dubai, GN Focus took a sneak preview of where you should be shopping to win big this summer, or have a great day out with family and friends.
BurJuman: The mall will play host to a live Spiderman show during the first two weeks of DSS. In addition, it will also run the special BMW raffle during the summer festival and again during Eid, in collaboration with Depe and DSMG.
Al Ghurair: Also participating in the BMW raffle with Depe, the mall will bring in popular cartoon-themed events including shows, interactive workshops, entertainment games and character meet-and-greet visits, including Modhesh.
In addition, shoppers will be treated to an exciting and colourful line-up of attractions, which includes international dance shows, interactive competitions, storytelling sessions and roaming performances.
Deira City Centre: The numerous, themed children's activities include one on the Animal Kingdom, which runs until July 2. The mystical Witches and Wizards activities will take centre stage in July. Additionally, circus acts featuring clowns, jugglers and magicians, as well as fun and interactive carnival parades will be roaming the mall throughout this five-week festive period. Children can also partake in the DSS Signature Event — Kids Fashion Week (hosted for the third consecutive year).
For moviegoers, Deira City Centre will also play host to the premiere of the Harry Potter finale Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on July 12. Meanwhile, the mall's Facebook page offers a chance to win of one of the weekly Family Fun Packages.
In collaboration with Mall of the Emirates and Mirdif City Centre, customers frequenting Deira City Centre throughout DSS will also have the chance to win weekly shopping sprees worth a total of Dh1.5 million. From June 22, visitors who shop at any of these three malls and spend a combined total of Dh300 will automatically be entered into this prize draw.
Mall of the Emirates: For movie buffs, the mall will play host to the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2, The Green Lantern and The Wiggles. Additionally, Giselle — a ballet act in 3D will also be released on July 27. Throughout summer, Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre will also present numerous shows and activities including an Art Summer Camp, Oil Painting Workshop, the Woodwind Workshop and Voice Workshop.
Ski Dubai will introduce its Summer Camp, allowing children and teens to master the art of skiing and snowboarding while the Kempinski Hotel Mall of Emirates and The Hotel Pullman Dubai Mall of Emirates have some great getaway packages.
