UAE prices revealed as Samsung tries to create new demand for 'thin' gadgets
Dubai: Samsung has brought out the super-slim Edge to its flagship S25 smartphone line-up, with UAE retail prices for the two Edge models being Dh4,299 for the 256GB and Dh4,799 for 512GB.
The South Korean tech giant is thus trying to create a new burst of demand around a ‘slimmed’ down option – and the Galaxy S25 Edge sure is thin.
The titanium body is just about 5.8-mm thick compared to the S25 regular’s 7.2-mm measurement. And weighs 163 grams.
Galaxy S25 Edge, with a 6.7 inch display, will be available in multiple colors - Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue.
But Samsung makes a point of emphasizing that the Edge is not just about the dimensions.
“Galaxy S25 Edge is more than a slim smartphone,” said T.M. Roh, President and acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics.
“S25 Edge not only marks a breakthrough for its category, but it also accelerates important innovation across the mobile industry.”
Now, when it comes to the weight, the Edge’s bulk is ‘just’ 163 grams and which Samsung says is ‘taking slim smartphones to the next level while staying true to the Galaxy S series’ unified design’.
I guess it was time for Samsung to come with their slimmest phone yet - one that combines the best in terms of design and performance
According to Rajat Asthana, CEO at Eros Group, "The S25 flagship range rules in the Android premium segment, while the bestseller in terms of numbers is the 512GB variant. We are also seeing an increasing trend of sales of 1TB version.

According to UAE retail industry sources, a 'slimmer' product category such as the S25 Edge can be just as 'sizable a niche like Samsung's fold and flip smartphones'. "All it needs are a couple of iterations to generate a fairly loyal user base in markets like the UAE or Saudi Arabia," said the retailer.
"In the smartphone category, manufacturers don't need to super-size everything."
But there is also a lot that the Edge shares with the rest of the Samsung S25 line-up.
The 200MP wide lens ‘uphold’ the Galaxy S series’ iconic camera experience’, and with the ‘Nightography’ feature.
“Galaxy S25 Edge benefits from the same 'ProVisual Engine' that was optimized for Galaxy S25 with pro-grade enhancements, like ensuring sharp details for clothes or plants and natural, true-to-life skin tone in portraits,” said a statement.
“Galaxy AI-powered editing features, including fan-favorites like 'Audio Eraser' and 'Drawing Assist' are all brought over from the Galaxy S25 series, pairing advanced creative and editing tools with a never-before-seen slim form factor.”
Given the premium feel and features, the S25 Edge's price points in the UAE of over Dh4,000 does seem the right fit.
"The best part is that the wider S25 range prices have more or less held up since their launch in January," said a retailer. "Samsung clearly believes that there is a ready user base for ultra-slim phones. The S25 Edge has the 'wow' feature - for me the second new phone this year to have this since Huawei's triple-fold Mate XT..."
