Plan focuses on selling Cisco's AI products and G42's AI knowledge in the UAE
Abu Dhabi: UAE technology firm G42 and global tech giant Cisco have agreed to work together on artificial intelligence (AI) and the technology needed to support it.
According to a joint statement, the partnership aims to help both government and private companies use AI better and build the necessary computer systems.
The deal was shown to Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan by the heads of both companies.
Peng Xiao, the CEO of G42, said the agreement shows their shared interest in growing AI safely. He said, “As G42 expands its international footprint, we welcome the opportunity to align with organizations that value open collaboration, trusted ecosystems, and long-term impact.”
The plan includes working together to sell Cisco's AI products and G42's AI knowledge in the UAE and other countries. They will also explore creating AI-powered cybersecurity tools and computer system designs for high-performance computing. This aims to help customers build secure AI centres and develop AI applications effectively.
Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins said that AI is changing the world and strong partnerships are needed to unlock its potential. He stated that Cisco is pleased to work with G42 to provide customers with advanced AI and technology solutions.
G42's partnerships with major U.S. tech companies are playing a key role in its growth in the AI sector.
The UAE has shown a strong focus on AI, being the first country to have a Minister for Artificial Intelligence and to establish an AI university. This agreement supports the UAE's goal to be a leader in the responsible development and use of AI.
