Dubai: Whether you're juggling meetings, projects, or multiple apps across your workday, Zoom just dropped an update that could make your life a whole lot easier.

The video conferencing giant has rolled out major new features to its AI Companion—and now, it doesn’t just help you during Zoom meetings. It can summarize your calls, update project tools, search files, and even send Slack messages without you lifting a finger.

And best of all? These AI-powered tools are designed to save time and boost productivity—something every UAE-based entrepreneur, freelancer, or remote worker can relate to.

Works with your favourite work apps

Zoom’s new Custom AI Companion add-on can now connect directly with 16 popular work apps—like Salesforce, Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, Asana, Box, Notion, Workday, and more. So, what does that mean in real life?

  • You can ask AI Companion to update a project in Asana, assign a task, or change a deadline—right from your Zoom meeting.

  • Need to check a customer record or close a support ticket in Salesforce or ServiceNow? Zoom’s AI can do that too.

  • Want to find a file from OneDrive, Google Drive or Notion? AI Companion can search, summarize or even create new docs based on your meeting.

No more jumping between tabs or forgetting where you saved something. It’s all inside Zoom now.

Need meeting notes? AI has you covered

Zoom's meeting summary feature just got an upgrade—now available not only on Zoom calls but also across other platforms like Google Meet or Microsoft Teams (with the add-on). You can even customize how you want the summary to look. Missed a meeting? AI can send you the highlights and action points instantly.

Ask Zoom AI a question – even during a call

Ever had a question mid-call and didn’t want to interrupt? With this update, you can ask Zoom AI questions in real-time. It could be something like:

“What did Sarah say about the budget?” or “What’s the next deadline?”
And Zoom AI will fetch the answer for you.

There’s even a voice recorder for in-person meetings, so you can capture notes and summarize discussions—whether you're on a Zoom call or sitting in a boardroom.

Boost for businesses, solopreneurs

If you're a small business owner, consultant, or startup founder, this update could be a game-changer. Zoom AI Companion now helps you:

  • Cut meeting overload with summaries and suggested actions

  • Manage tasks across tools like Jira, Asana, and Slack

  • Respond to customer requests or job applicants faster

  • Stay on top of projects without hiring extra admin help

The Custom AI Companion add-on is now available for online purchase, making it accessible even if you're not part of a big corporation.

What’s AI features included for free?

Good news for paid Zoom users: many of these core AI features—like real-time meeting help, agenda creation, and summaries—are included at no extra cost. The more advanced integrations come with the optional Custom AI add-on.

Bottom Line? Zoom isn’t just a video app anymore. It’s becoming a smart digital assistant for your entire workday—especially useful in the UAE, where fast-moving businesses and hybrid teams need more efficient ways to stay connected and get things done.
