Qatar sells 1.5b riyals of three- to 10-year bonds

Central bank sells 500m riyals of three-year bonds at 2.25 per cent, 400m riyals of five-year debt at 2.75%

Dubai: Qatar’s central bank sold 1.5 billion riyals (Dh1.5 billion, $412 million) of government bonds this week in its third domestic bond sale this year, the central bank said on Thursday.

It sold 500 million riyals of three-year bonds at 2.25 per cent, 400 million riyals of five-year debt at 2.75 per cent, 300 million riyals of seven-year debt at 3.25 per cent, and 300 million riyals of 10-year debt at 3.75 per cent.

The central bank had offered 1.5 billion riyals of three-year, 1 billion riyals of five-year, 250 million riyals of seven-year and 250 million riyals of 10-year debt, according to a circular seen by Reuters before the sale. In last month’s sale, it sold 1.975 billion riyals of bonds.
