Dubai: Gautam S. Adani has stepped down as executive chairman of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ), effective 5 August 2025, the company announced on Tuesday. With this re-designation, Adani will no longer be classified as key managerial personnel.

Manish Kejriwal named as independent director

As part of a board reshuffle, Adani Ports has appointed Manish Kejriwal as an additional director (non-executive, independent) for an initial term of three years, also effective 5 August. The appointment is subject to shareholder approval, which the company intends to secure within three months.

Strong quarterly performance boosts revenue

The leadership changes were announced alongside the company’s latest earnings update. APSEZ reported a 21% year-on-year increase in quarterly revenue, driven by robust growth in its logistics and marine services segments.

Adani Group’s infrastructure footprint expands

Gautam Adani, founder of the Adani Group, has steered the conglomerate into a global integrated infrastructure player with interests across resources, logistics, and energy, the company said in a statement.

APSEZ handles nearly a third of India’s port cargo

A flagship company of the Adani Group, APSEZ is India’s largest private port operator. It manages 15 ports and terminals across the country—six on the west coast, five on the south coast, and four on the east coast—handling approximately 28% of India’s total port cargo volumes.
