Crystal Gallery, part of the Hatimi Group of companies, last week announced the opening of its latest retail outlet at the Abu Dhabi International Airport with an initial investment of Dh3 million.

The company, with the Middle East's only crystal manufacturing factory, plans to expand further in the Gulf as well as Singapore.

"The new outlet is poised to offer travellers using the airport the latest innovation in giftware and personalised portraits," said Akbar N. Sura, joint managing director of Crystal Gallery.

"With current passenger traffic of over 6 million per year, the crystal reflections outlet at the duty free in the Abu Dhabi airport is in a prime position to offer the very best to its users," he added.

The company is drawing up expansion plans across the GCC and beyond, he said.

"We are looking at opening our exclusive outlets in Kuwait and Qatar and another one in Saudi Arabia, our second outlet there. Plans are being drawn up to open an outlet in Singapore. This could happen late this year or early next year."


Crystal Gallery now has 12 outlets in the UAE, one each in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and two in Muscat.

The outlets are characterised by the classic combination of European and Arabic designs blended to suit changing customer trends and tastes.

Headquartered in Al Aweer, Dubai, Crystal Gallery was set up in 1993 and is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company.
