Logistics provider Aramex yesterday announced the full resumption of its Egypt operations, following their temporary suspension due to civil unrest. As a precautionary measure, Aramex's Egypt operations were suspended temporarily in order to ensure the safety of its employees in the country. Having closely monitored the situation Aramex was able to resume full operations on Saturday. Samer Gharaibeh, Aramex Chief Executive Officer in Africa, said: "The safety of our employees has been our number one priority throughout the current period in Egypt. After a short suspension, our operations in the country have resumed. We will continue to closely monitor developments in Egypt to ensure we are able to meet the needs of our customers while ensuring the safety of our employees."

Mashreq bank announced yesterday the launch of a newly enhanced online banking platform. This upgraded system will equip customers with additional banking functionality, improved security measures and financial freedom, the bank said.

First Gulf Bank

First Gulf Bank announced its new scheme for 2011 during its yearly Emirati Al Awwal Grand Draw yesterday. The yearly grand draw, which was supervised by a representative of the Department of Economic Development, Abu Dhabi, has randomly selected 141 Emirati winners. One grand prize of Dh5 million was won by Afra Al Memari, and one winner stands to win Dh100,000.

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) said yesterday it has lined up top dignitaries, renowned speakers and crucial decision-makers for its Third Annual Global Financial Markets Forum (GFMF) to kick off on March 2.
