Cupertino: American tech conglomerate Apple has confirmed it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) online from June 9 to 13, 2025. Apple has also confirmed that ‘WWDC25’ will be available entirely online and is free for all developers. The annual event showcases upcoming software updates, new technologies, and sometimes hardware. It targets developers, offering sessions and hands-on labs to help them integrate Apple’s latest advancements into their apps.

For developers, WWDC provides insights into Apple’s software roadmap. At the same time, for consumers, it hints at what to expect from future Apple devices.

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. She added, “We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

According to a Verge report, Apple reportedly has major visual design changes planned for its software platforms this year. WWDC could also see the debut of new hardware and an update on the AI-powered Siri features that were recently delayed.

The company used last year’s WWDC to introduce Apple Intelligence, showcasing still-unreleased advanced features for Siri that would allow the voice assistant to see your screen and perform actions based on what’s being displayed, integrate more deeply with your apps, and understand personal context when completing tasks.

What to expect at WWDC?

Apple has said that WWDC25 will allow developers and students to explore the latest Apple software and technologies. According to the company, the keynote and sessions will be available throughout the week through the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel.

The event will include video sessions and online labs, allowing participants to engage with Apple engineers and designers. Apple also confirmed that an in-person experience will occur on June 9 at Apple Park, where selected developers can watch the keynote and Platforms State of the Union, meet with Apple experts, and participate in special activities. Attendance will be limited.

Earlier this week, Apple announced that a new software update will bring lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio to AirPods Max next month. With the USB-C cable, Apple said users can enjoy the highest-quality audio across music, movies, and games. Moreover, music creators can also experience significant enhancements to songwriting, beat-making, production, and mixing.

Lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio will be available in April as a free firmware update with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 for AirPods Max with USB-C.

AirPods Max are currently available for Dh 2,099 in five colours — midnight, starlight, blue, purple, and orange.
