South Korea agrees to buy more Iranian oil - Iran oil minister

Iranian minister’s comments came as South Korean government and business officials visited Iran seeking possible deals in oil, gas and construction industries

DUBAI — Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said on Sunday that South Korea has agreed to increase its purchases of Iranian oil after a nuclear deal with world powers cleared the way for an easing of international sanctions on Tehran. His comments, reported on the oil ministry’s news agency Shana, came as South Korean government and business officials visited Iran seeking possible deals in the oil, gas and construction industries.

“Before sanctions were imposed, South Korea bought 180,000 barrels a day (of oil) from Iran, and this figure is now just above 100,000 bpd,” Shana quoted Zanganeh as saying. (Reuters)
