Riyadh: Sales at the International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) 2024, held in Saudi Arabia, have exceeded $1.4 million within the first ten days, the organisers said in a media release. The impressive figures include both auction platform sales and direct purchases from the exhibition. The event, originally featuring participants from 16 countries, has expanded to 18 nations, with the number of participating falcon breeding farms increasing to 47, as the Saudi Falcons Club continues to attract global interest, added the media release.

The ongoing IFBA, taking place at the Saudi Falcons Club in Melham, just north of Riyadh, is set to run until August 24 and features participation from farms across multiple continents. Countries represented include the United States, United Kingdom, France, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Uzbekistan, and others, with several nations contributing multiple breeders. Moreover, 13 Saudi falcon breeding farms are part of the auction.

According to the organisers, the event has quickly gained the trust of falcon enthusiasts, offering a secure and reputable platform for buying and selling falcons. All transactions are governed by strict protocols established by the Saudi Falcons Club, including mandatory medical checks and official sales documentation.

This auction, one of the largest of its kind globally, brings together the world’s top falcon breeds and has become an international hub where falconers and breeders gather annually. It underscores the Saudi Falcons Club’s dedication to preserving the rich cultural and historical heritage of falconry while supporting leading falcon breeding farms. The auction also plays a key role in establishing Saudi Arabia as a premier global destination for falcons and falconers.
