HSBC appoints Head of International, Middle East

Abdul Fattah Sharaf gets additional responsibility

Dubai: Abdul Fattah Sharaf, Group General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, UAE, has been appointed as “Head of International, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited”, in addition to his current responsibilities, with effect from 1 July, 2017.

In his broader role, Abdul Fattah Sharaf will oversee HSBC’s businesses in Bahrain, Kuwait and Algeria, whose country Chief Executive Officers will report to Sharaf.

“Abdul Fattah’s deep knowledge and understanding of the region will help to develop HSBC’s important relationships with key clients to enhance the growth of our businesses in these markets,” said Georges Elhedery, Deputy Chairman of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC in Mena (Middle East and North Africa).
