Dubai: Emirates has extended the suspension of passenger flights between Dubai and several Middle Eastern destinations due to ongoing regional instability.

The airline confirmed that flights to the following cities are now suspended as follows:

  • Jordan (Amman) and Lebanon (Beirut) until Sunday, June 22

  • Iran (Tehran) and Iraq (Baghdad and Basra) until Monday, June 30

Are transit passengers affected?

Emirates confirmed on its website that passengers transiting through Dubai to affected destinations—including those with onward connections via flydubai—will not be accepted for travel from their point of origin until further notice.

Rebooking and flight status updates

Passengers impacted by cancellations are advised to contact their travel agents for rebooking. Those who booked directly with Emirates should reach out to the airline for assistance.

Travellers departing from or arriving at Dubai International Airport are urged to check their flight status on emirates.com and update their contact details via the Manage Your Booking section to receive timely notifications.

Emirates apologised for the inconvenience and stated it is closely monitoring the situation, emphasising that the safety of passengers, crew, and operations remains its highest priority.

 Escalation in Israel-Iran conflict

Israel and Iran have exchanged fire for a third consecutive day, with rising casualties and expanding targets marking a sharp escalation between the longtime adversaries.

Overnight Iranian strikes killed at least ten people in Israel, increasing the toll in both countries since Friday, when Israel launched a major wave of attacks on Iranian nuclear and military facilities, prompting retaliation.

This intense exchange is the first of its kind between the two countries, raising fears of a prolonged conflict that could engulf the Middle East, even as international leaders call for de-escalation.
