Airport in south-western France evacuated over security alert
Paris: Toulouse-Blagnac airport in France was evacuated on Wednesday over a security alert, local media reported.
The alert came just a day after the Brussels terror attacks at the city's airport and a Metro station, thelocal.fr reported. France is on high alert over the terrorist threat.
Flight delays had been reported, a press official for the airport said.
As passengers gathered on Wednesday morning in the departure areas, they were suddenly told to evacuate the building due to a security alert.
The reason for the alert is believed to be the presence of a suspect package.
In Tuesday's bombings in Brussels, at least 34 people were killed and over 200 were injured.
Police checks are ongoing, Marc Dupeyron, a spokesman for the airport, said by phone. He declined to give a reason for the evacuation. All the airport, the boarding area, has been evacuated.
