Syrian Flight RB 502 enroute from Sharjah to Damascus rerouted to Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk Airport

Flight diverted mid-air due to regional tensions, passengers and crew reported safe

Dubai: Syrian Airlines has announced that Flight RB 502, travelling from Sharjah in the UAE to Damascus, was rerouted mid-flight due to regional tensions. The airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely at Tabuk Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reassured the public that all necessary safety precautions were observed. The airline added that, with the assistance of Saudi authorities, passengers were welcomed and accommodated in a hotel in Tabuk.

Meanwhile, Syrian Airlines announced schedule adjustments for Flights 443/444 between Damascus and Istanbul on Sunday, June 15, confirming that the airspace for this route remains safe. Passengers are advised that Flight 443 will now depart Damascus at 15:40, arriving in Istanbul at 18:20, while the return Flight 444 will depart Istanbul at 19:20 and arrive in Damascus at 21:40.

The airline clarified that this flight is proceeding as scheduled due to the completely safe conditions along its route, with no associated risks.
