Gulf Air resumes flights to India’s Thiruvananthapuram

Carrier will have five weekly flights to the city beginning on December 15

Dubai: Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, announced on Wednesday that it will resume flights to the southern Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram.

Starting on December 15, the carrier will have five weekly flights to the city.

Commenting on the decision to resume flights, Gulf Air’s Acting CEO, Maher Al Musallam, said: “Our decision to resume flights to Thiruvananthapuram emphasizes the importance we attach to India, one of our key markets, and our business strategy to concentrate on high-demand point-to-point routes to ensure our core customer base is served effectively and efficiently.”

Gulf Air has been flying to India since 1960. Thiruvananthapuram is its fifth destination in the country, increasing the carrier’s capacity to India by 10 per cent from 45 to 50 weekly flights, from Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
