Dubai: Dubai's flagship carrier, Emirates, is bringing back its popular tradition of offering complimentary ice cream to passengers at Dubai International Airport (DXB) during the busy Eid Al Adha and summer travel period.

Travellers departing from Dubai can look forward to tasting a range of refreshing ice creams and sorbets from Emirates' specially placed four ice cream carts throughout the airport.

The airline said the complimentary ice cream is being served in Terminal 3, DXB on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting June 6. The campaign runs until July 20. Emirates said the four "eye-catching" ice-cream carts have been positioned around the various departures areas.

Passengers can indulge in "mango, chocolate or strawberry ice cream, or a passionfruit or raspberry sorbet," before setting off on holiday.

This initiative by Emirates has become a recurring delight for passengers during peak summer travel times and major holidays like Eid.

Emirates reported a rise in passenger numbers ahead of Eid Al Adha; the airline has also issued a travel advisory for passengers to ease the travel process.

Given the expected high volume of travellers during this period, Emirates is also reminding passengers to take advantage of their convenient remote and online check-in services.

This will help ensure a smoother and more seamless journey through the airport as families and individuals head off for their Eid Al Adha holidays.
