Dubai: India’s newest airline – Air Kerala – is moving into its new office in Kochi on April 15. The carrier has been working on getting all the regulatory approvals and operational side of things in working order.

The new office in South Indian state of Kerala will base more than 200 staffers as the airline gears up for its first domestic flight from Kochi in June, followed by the launch of UAE services in 2027.

Air Kerala plans to recruit over 750 people this year, initially operating solely on domestic routes with 76-seater ATR aircraft before international expansion using narrow-body jets.

Key Air Kerala officials have been talking about offering ‘ultra-low cost fares’. The company has leased five aircraft and intends to buy more, focusing on connecting smaller south and central Indian cities.
