Air Berlin to fly Hamburg-Abu Dhabi in 2015

Abu Dhabi: Air Berlin will launch direct flights between Hamburg in Germany and Abu Dhabi next year, said Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive, James Hogan, on Wednesday. Etihad owns nearly 30 per cent of the German carrier. The equity stake investment by the Abu Dhabi carrier has seen Germany become the emirate’s largest source market, replacing the United Kingdom. No other details were given on the new route. Hogan was speaking at a summit in Abu Dhabi.
