The film collected Dh1.3m in its first two days in Pakistan

Here’s some great news for Ali Zafar fans. The popular singer and actor’s debut Pakistani film Teefa In Trouble has opened to a thunderous response all across the country.
In its first two days, the film collected PKR 48 million (Dh1.3 million), which is a new box-office record for a local feature. Teefa braved all social-media propelled “boycott” stories and the rather insignificant protest demos outside the theatres in Karachi and Lahore where the film’s premieres were held last week, to clinch a victory.
What is especially commendable is the fact that Teefa wasn’t released on a festive occasion such as Eid or Independence Day, which are traditionally known to pull in greater crowds.
An ecstatic Zafar immediately took to Twitter to express his gratitude: “This success belongs to you all. Enjoy!” he wrote. Earlier, he posted a verse that speaks of divine justice.
