Abu Dhabi/Dhabi: The long weekend over Eid Al Adha has started, and motorists can enjoy free parking in paid-parking locations during the holiday period.

But until when is parking free?

In Abu Dhabi, no parking fees will be charged from 12:01am today, August 31, Thursday, until 7:59 am on September 4, on Monday, according to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in the capital.

In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority has announced that all paid-parking zones, except multi-level parking lots, will be free of charge from August 31, Thursday, until 8am on September 4, Monday.

Meanwhile, transport authorities have urged motorists not to park their vehicles in prohibited areas, and to not obstruct other vehicles or traffic.

Dubai Metro timings 

During the Eid Al Adha holiday, meanwhile, the Dubai Metro Red Line Stations will operate from 5:30 am on August 31 till 2:00 am the following day.

On September 1, Friday, the Red Line stations will operate from 10am to 2am (of the following day, Saturday), said Yousef Al Rida, CEO of Corporate Administrative Support Services at Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai.

On September 2, Saturday, these stations will operate from 5:50am till 2am; and on September 3, Sunday, from 5:30am till 2am.

The Express Metro Service, however, will not be available on September 2, said the official.

The Green Line stations will operate on August 31 from 5:50am up to 2am, on September 1 from 10am to 2am, and on September 2-3, from 5:50am to 2am.
