The UAE pavilion at Expo 2017 Astana has received 150,000 visitors during its first month, according to a statement from the National Media Council (NMC), which is managing and supervising the pavilion.

The NMC said in a statement on Sunday it has seen widespread interest from a broad range of international VIPs and visitors since its opening on June 10. The UAE pavilion, which is being held under the theme of “Future Energy,” intends to give visitors key insights into the UAE’s strategy for energy security.

These measures include diversifying energy sources, from traditional hydrocarbons to renewable energies. The pavilion also intends to showcase the UAE’s efforts, initiatives and projects in the energy field, both domestically and internationally.

One of the largest at Expo 2017 Astana, the UAE pavilion is equipped with a range of interactive digital features to engage visitors, such as a virtual host that guides visitors through the experience, self-guiding activities and digital summaries of the entire tour upon completion, for each visitor.

The participation of Takatof volunteers, or youth volunteers, who are operating the pavilion has also been of interest to visitors and organisers.

The UAE’s pavilion is the only one that is operated by youth volunteers, and a step which is in line with the NMC’s efforts to strengthen voluntary work and societal cooperation as part of the UAE’s ‘Year of Giving’.

Expo 2017 Astana will continue until September 10, 2017, and the UAE pavilion is scheduled to hold its symbolic ‘National Day’ on September 6 as part of its participation.
