Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Vice President of the Supreme Petroleum Council, yesterday (Sunday) visited the headquarters of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc).
During the visit, Shaikh Mohammad stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gives special attention and continuous support for the oil and gas sector and all national institutions, and particularly Adnoc. He said that Adnoc plays a pivotal and distinguished role in bolstering the UAE’s position as a key global supplier for oil, gas and petroleum products.
Shaikh Mohammad was received upon his arrival by Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State and Director-General of Adnoc. Shaikh Mohammad was briefed on the company’s efforts to achieve its medium and long-term strategic goals, such as ways to enhance operational efficiency and rationalise energy consumption, as well as preserving assets and ensuring their sustainability.
Initiatives
Shaikh Mohammad praised the flexible framework adopted by Adnoc in order to keep abreast with changes in oil and gas sector. He was also briefed on programmes and initiatives being implemented by Adnoc to train national cadres.
He said that the UAE is proud of Adnoc, a company in which a number of technical and administrative experts are working. He pointed out the importance of continued work and progress, and more efforts to boost performance.
Al Jaber said that the achievements and global standing of the UAE’s oil and gas sector would not have been possible without the wise vision of President His Highness, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. “Shaikh Mohammad’s visit embodies the importance and constant follow-up of the UAE’s wise leadership on the operations of vital UAE sectors,” said Al Jaber.
“Adnoc Group is committed to its role as a key and effective partner in efforts to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development in the country. Adnoc will continue to adapt in order to face various short-term challenges, bolstering the feasibility of operational and economic costs, as well as boosting productivity and performance levels in various fields of operation,” added Al Jaber.
Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and other officials.
