Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the board of Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc), on Monday announced the appointment of Saif Humaid Al Falasi as Enoc’s new chief executive officer.

Al Falasi takes over from Saeed Al Khoury, who led the company’s diversification and geographical expansion.

The company is expected to continue building on its strong results, the new CEO said in a statement.

“The focus will be to lead the company’s growth by exploring new geographic markets as well as diversifying our revenue streams. In this, our people and stakeholders will continue to be the key priority. We will strengthen training programmes for our staff to ensure the development of talent to undertake and manage our growing business footprint effectively,” Al Falasi stated.

With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Al Falasi was formerly the executive director of Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality and Corporate Affairs at Enoc, having joined the company in 2008. He also served as group general manager.

His expertise spans specialities that include project management, petroleum asset evaluation, development of enhanced oil recovery, drilling technology, and production operation, among others, Enoc said in a statement.
