Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has received the lowest international bid for its 200MW Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant, the state body announced on Monday.

The CSP plant, which is the fourth phase of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, received a bid of $9.45 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh).

According to Dewa’s statement, the bids from four international consortia were opened on Monday at Dewa’s head office. The government agency is financing the project through an Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. The 200MW CSP plant will be operational by April 2021, with other CSP projects eventually generating a total of 1,000MW by 2030.
