DUBAI

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a contract to supply, extend and commission 40km of water pipelines, at a total cost of Dh248 million, the government body said in a statement on Tuesday.

The project includes a 600-1200 millimetre (mm) expansion of the diameter of key water pipes, up to 40km in length, along Al Qudra Street and the Dubai to Al Ain highway.

The purpose of this extension is to increase water-flow capacity and provide water to development projects in these areas, according to the statement.
