Muscat: Oman's crude oil production rose by seven per cent in the first eight months of this year to 208.5 million barrels compared to 195 million barrels in the corresponding period in 2009, according to statistics released by the National Economy Ministry.
Crude oil production rose by 6.7 per cent and condensates by 8.7 per cent to 183 million tonnes and 25.5 million tonnes respectively.
The average daily productionl rose by seven per cent to 858,000 barrel and its average price recorded rise by 53.6 per cent to $77.90 (Dh285.89) a barrel. The Sultanate's oil exports increased during the first eight months of 2010 by 11.3 per cent to 175.9 million barrels compared to the same period of 2009.
Oman's oil exports to Singapore, China and Japan increased by 49.9 per cent, 43.5 per cent and 72.1 per cent respectively.
The country's oil exports to the Chinese markets topped 74.9 million barrels, up about 42.6 per cent, compared to 52.2 million barrels during the same period in 2009.
At the same time Oman's natural gas production rose by 7.7 per cent during the first eight months of the year.
