Iraq crude exports hit 1.89m bpd
Continuing truck shipments through Jordan and rising volumes from Kirkuk boost sales.

Baghdad: Iraq's monthly crude oil exports increased to an average of 1.893 million barrels per day (bpd) in January, boosted by continuing shipments by truck through Jordan, an oil industry official said on Monday.
Crude exports in December averaged 1.815 million bpd.
In January, exports from the southern Basra oil fields and ports averaged 1.383 million bpd, said Falah Alamri, head of the State Oil Marketing Company
Exports from oil fields around Kirkuk in the north of Iraq to the Turkish port of Ceyhan averaged 500,000 bpd, while trucks exported another 10,000 bpd through Jordan, Alamri said.
"This is the first time we exported such a quantity from the Kirkuk oil fields," Alamri told Reuters. "We consider it a record figure since [the US-led invasion in] 2003 and this is because we have a slight increase in crude production in Kirkuk's northern fields."
He said the average price paid for Iraqi oil in January was $36 (Dh132.2) per barrel.
