Dubai(Zawya Dow Jones) A vital gas pipeline linking Qatar and the UAE will run at lower capacity this month because of maintenance work, its owners Dolphin Energy said.

Gas supply to customers in the UAE, the second-largest Arab economy, will be down by 25 per cent between February 26 and March 8 when a maintenance and inspection programme at the Qatar gas processing plant in Ras Laffan is carried out, Dolphin Energy said Wednesday.

Shutdown

Capacity will fall to 1.5 billion standard cubic feet a day of gas rather than the regular daily production of 2 billion cubic feet.

The shutdown is one in a series of programmes planned for 2010 by the company and further maintenance activities have been scheduled for April and May.
