Fujairah: Saeed Abdullah Khouri, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) on Thursday inaugurated a new pipeline linking Enoc’s gas stations with the oil tankers terminal at Fujairah Port.

Khouri credited the completion of this leading project to the vision and directives of His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. He pointed out that the project will help achieve the objectives of Fujairah government to boost the emirate’s position in becoming a global hub for the refined petroleum products trade.

“The purpose behind the new pipeline is to enhance the speed and capacity of operations carried out by Vopak Horizon Fujairah [VHF], which implemented the project in cooperation with Independent Petroleum Group. The pipeline will also contribute to enhancing the status of Fujairah port as one of the largest bunkering ports in the world, and this is has been accomplished through the emirate’s strategic location and ambitious plans in infrastructure development,” said Khouri.

Cees De Greeve, General Manger of VHF, said that he was happy with the successful completion of the project achieved through fruitful cooperation between VHF, Fujairah port, and Enoc’s department of engineering and projects. “The project will enhance the quality of services provided to customers, lessens the dependency on jetties, and will stimulate future growth plans of VHF,” said Cees De Greeve.
