Abu Dhabi: Projects worth $18 billion will be up for grabs when local and international companies gather at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec), officials said yesterday.
The 12th edition of Adi-pec from November 5 to November 8 will showcase huge contracts in the UAE's energy sector.
Over 1,000 leading companies from more than 50 countries have confirmed their participation. Foreign trade representatives seeking new business for their countries' energy companies are expressing interest.
Italian companies are eyeing Abu Dhabi, where Adnoc is offering huge contracts, said Dr. Ferdinando Fiore, Italian Trade Commissioner in the UAE. "In the UAE alone, there are more than $18 billion worth of onshore and offshore governmental projects available," said Fiore.
"Across the region, countries are investing heavily in the industry and Adipec allows stakeholders to gather and examine products on offer," said Gordon Brown, head of the Commercial Section at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
"Participants recognise that Adipec provides an unmatched business generation and industry networking platform for the global oil and gas industry," said Ashok Pillai, Adipec project manager.
