The 2019 general elections in India are going to be a tough battle between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).

Opposition parties, like Congress and other regional parties, are restless. Their attacks on Narendra Modi, are vitriolic and acerbic. Why is there so much rage against Narendra Modi? Why is the Opposition so despised? What are the allegations they have against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)?

Opposition parties view BJP as a pro-Hindu party, unleashing atrocities against minorities to create fear, with fringe Hindu groups like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and so on. They see BJP as a party that does not fulfill its promises.

How far are these allegations true or acceptable? The people of India need to analyse the reality and credibility of the NDA government.

In the last four years of the NDA rule, not even a single terror attack happened. Modi’s foreign policies, economic handling, demonetization, Goods and Services Tax (GST), inflation control, clean India, the Make in India and Digital India campaigns and other social reforms – may not be excellent but are benchmarks of the NDA government.

Modi, in a hegemony, his popularity coupled with his mass appeal, the opposition parties are jittery in fear of a decimated melt-down. Their apprehension? If Modi is not unseated in 2019, their presence on the Indian political map will vanish into thin air.

The sole agenda of the coalition against Modi is nothing, but to throw him out of power. They are boorish with lust for power. Their rage against Modi will ruin the nation, will lead to an unstable and implausible government which neighbours like China could take undue advantage of.

As the BJP President, Amit Shah mentioned recently - “snake, mongoose, dog and cat” are joining together to overthrow Modi. Regional political parties should act with responsibility.

A strong, resilient leadership force high calibre is a must for the nation. At this juncture, Narendra Modi is the only leader fitting to that quality.
