We all are blessed to have this life. Some understand it, appreciate it, and live it to the fullest. Other people take this life for granted and aren’t thankful for what they have got from God. One day I was waiting to pick up my daughter from school. I saw a lady attendant for the school bus, standing outside, looking like she was going to be sick. I went up to her and asked her if she was all right. She told me she was fine and just had a headache. She was all pale and looked weak. It was clearly visible that she needed proper medication and rest. I offered her water, which she gratefully took.

I asked her how life was for her and she started complaining. I prompted her to talk more. She started sharing the responsibilities that brought her here and her living conditions. She gets up at four in the morning and had to wait to use the bathroom. Each room where she lives has 10 other women. Living, with a total of 18 women in one flat. She said it was overly crowded and congested. Their cleaning duty lasted for many hours and little option for entertainment.

When she left, I was forced to contemplate about jobs, society, humanity and everyone’s responsibilities. We should try and spread happiness. There are many camps here where men and women come from different parts of the world to earn a living. They leave their families behind come here for work and to survive. I am sure, most worker accommodation are legal but there might be a few illegal ones which need to be checked. There should be happiness programmes arranged for such people like picnics, lunches and more, to spread happiness.
