Satisfaction is something that we all want from our jobs. We need to try and choose the best options that come our way. More than the money, it’s about enjoying the job.

I am a teacher and teach children in class four. I have experienced that when it comes to careers involving children, there is a lot of variety. Working with children offers you the chance to go through a journey, learning somethings that you might have not even considered important.

Working with children is different than working with adults. Furthermore, working with younger children is different from working with older children. If you’ve got your heart set on working with children, whether it is as an educator or an entertainer, you need to firstly understand that they are unique beings who are still developing into the people you’re used to dealing with in the adult world, which means they haven’t yet learned most of the skills of coping with different situations in life. Working as a teacher for the past 15 years, I learnt the biggest lessons of life from my students. Patience tops the list because you are already aware of the fact that they are small children and not adults. You learn how to maintain a calm presence when if everything around you is overwhelming. Working with kids just has a way of making my days brighter and getting me out of my own head. It’s become more important than I ever could have imagined.

You’ll find kids can be sobbing tears one moment, and laughing hysterically the next. Maybe they get distracted or are redirected more easily than adults. I’ve gone through difficult situations that seemed never-ending, but everything passes. Going to work on those days always reminded me that eventually everything would be okay. So many things in this world are temporary.

Today as a teacher, I consider myself lucky to be in this profession because for me, I have a lot to learn from my young educators. Honestly, working with children changes your life and changes the way you approach certain situations.
